Berlin's skilled trades needed a new kind of space, one where craftspeople and innovators could actually work together instead of past each other. BIZH became that hub, and it needed an identity from day one.

Craftspeople often hold the best insight into everyday problems in their trade, yet rarely get the chance to develop solutions together with innovators. The Handwerkskammer Berlin initiated BIZH to close that gap: a hub where trades, startups, and science can collaborate on shared projects. To mark its start, a launch event was held to introduce the concept and present first pilot projects.
Role & Contribution
At C4 Berlin, I was fully responsible for the creative direction of the launch event, supported by a small team. My work covered the complete branding as well as all print materials, from the wordmark to the large-format graphic walls that shaped the space. I owned the project from concept to final execution with my Project Manager.
Key Design & Decisions
The color palette was drawn directly from the partners involved, so each of them feels represented within a single, cohesive identity rather than a patchwork of individual logos. I kept the overall design deliberately simple and clear, favoring reduced forms and direct communication. Since BIZH is meant to grow and could eventually move to a different space altogether, I designed the graphic panels as freestanding, mobile elements rather than fixed installations. This made the whole system flexible and reusable, ready to be set up again wherever BIZH goes next.
The Outcome
The identity came together as a cohesive visual system, brought to life through the graphic walls at the launch event. Clients and attendees responded very positively to both the branding and the atmosphere it created. While there are no formal metrics for an event like this, the launch was widely seen as a strong and well-received start for BIZH.
